Shahari Jan Sahabhagi Yojana (SJSY):
- The State Government launched Shahari Jan Sahabhagi Yojana from 8th December 2004.
Yojana has two major parts:
1- General Awareness
2- Development Works
General Awareness Public Awareness will be generated through organizing camps, seminars, workshops, regarding beautification of city/ward, sanitation, public health, vaccination, door to door waste collection, environment improvement through plantation and maintenance of plants and preparation of plan for ward development. NGOs, VOS, prominent citizens, Mohalla committee and ward member will be associated for this purpose.
Development WorksUnder this component development works will be taken up with the association of Public/N.G.O./Donor/ULB's and Government Contribution. 30% public contribution, 20% ULB's share and 50% share of Government have been kept under this Yojana. The contribution received from public, donor agency and N.G.O. shall be deposited in the P.D. account of concerned ULB. If the financial position of concerned ULB is weak, the public/N.G.O./donor can contribute 50% amount of the work and State Government will provide remaining 50% amount.
Priority is being accorded for development / extension of works like construction of building for Government Schools, Hospitals, Veterinary Hospitals, Library, Community Centers, Balbadi Bhawan, Rein Basera construction of Nallis, Bridge, Community Toilets, Handpumps, Drinking Water Scheme or any other facility for public use and roads in municipal area excluding State Highways & National Highways
During 2008-09, there is a provision of Rs. 15.00 cr. under SJSY.
Since inception of this scheme, 786 works worth Rs. 99.08 Crores has been sanctioned in which the amount of state share is 44.91 Crores.
